Real photography, no AI
Every historical claim is illustrated with genuine period photography or clearly-labelled modern preservation photography. AI-generated period railway imagery is banned across the site. Editorial section illustrations (nameboard covers, closure timetable collages, regional-map covers) are allowed only in a hand-drawn or poster-art register and are labelled as illustration, not photography.
Sourced claims
Every closure date, opening date, locomotive number, and allocation cites one or more of: RCTS Locomotives of the LNER / LMS / GWR / SR / BR Standard Classes; Ian Allan ABC Combined Volumes; Middleton Press branch-line series; Wild Swan monographs; Awdry’s Encyclopaedia of British Railway Companies; Yeadon’s Register of LNER Locomotives; Bradshaw’s timetables; Disused Stations (Nick Catford, Subterranea Britannica); the National Railway Museum Search Engine catalogue.
Corrections
Corrections are logged publicly at /about/corrections/. A dated correction notice appears at the top of any page changed after publication. Silent overwrites are not permitted on line, station, or locomotive pages. Contributors are credited on the pages they inform.
Wikipedia link protection
The pre-rebuild archive was cited from 271 Wikipedia articles by legacy .html filenames. Every one of those filenames now 301-redirects to its rebuilt equivalent slug, so Wikipedia references continue to resolve. The map is maintained in the theme and tested quarterly.
