Notes

Thos short piece of railway was originally perceived as the main line of the MSJ&A railway, but the ‘branch’ to Altrincham soon superseded it in importance. In 1988 the Windor Link was opened and, for the first time in its history, the line achieved real importance. It now carries an intense passenger service.
